Search for German Resources
German LangSource began as a project funded by the National Foreign Language Center in 2000. The purpose of LangNet at that time was to create an on-line database to identify resources for the use of both teachers and learners of German as a foreign language. With the support of the American Association of Teachers of German, a database was developed which includes a variety of resources: books, tapes, URLs, software, newspapers, and magazines.
The topics covered in this first phase were focused on two areas: the needs of those teaching German for students in a general education curriculum at the college-university level, hence many items are in the English language; and materials mostly in German for middle school learners of German.
In the second phase of LangSource, the editorial board concentrated on collecting materials for the teaching of the practices, products, and perspectives of the cultures of German-speaking countries with a particular emphasis on grades K-12, although many items can be used at the college university level as well.
Teachers of German at all levels of instruction are also invited to use the database of resources German Resources on the Web (GROW) available on the AATG Web site

Monika Chavez (University of Wisconsin)
John F. Lalande II, Chair (State University of New York at Oswego)
