An Introductory Course in Korean
Description: This textbook was developed for Korean language programs whose purpose is to prepare students to read material related to their academic pursuits. It leads to more advanced study in both the written and spoken language. The Course presents the basics of Korean orthography, phonetics and grammar.
Editorial Board Review: There are twenty-four lessons comprising samples of conversational and written language. Each lesson contains a sample text, a description of the grammar, exercises and a Korean-English glossary. The book|s strength lies in the extensive and insightful grammatical descriptions it provides. The book cannot be used without first learning Korean orthography (Hangul). No accompanying tapes.
